My name is Zarnaz Sayed and I am a registered clinical counsellor with over a decade of experience in mental health and disability services. As a Clinical Member of PACFA, I am committed to helping clients navigate stress and trauma to support their recovery and well-being. My expertise includes domestic violence, childhood trauma, child protection and parental challenges.
With significant cultural competence, I work effectively with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) and Aboriginal families. I offer counselling in English, Hindi and Urdu by creating a safe space for clients to reflect on their strengths and achieve positive outcomes.
My diverse roles include Domestic Violence Counsellor, Drug and Alcohol Counsellor, and Child Protection Specialist.
Using a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, I empower clients to reflect on their strengths, develop coping strategies, and overcome challenges.
I am also an approved Victim services counsellor.

Thank you for our session today, it was a lightbulb moment for when I realised my children and myself were both resisting the violence in the home, as a response to the violence, like safety planning when the perpetrator was not home, connecting with our family and friends and building our support network
I just remind myself to think about you and remember what I have learnt from you and that this is not ‘in my control’ and this is okay
What I have learned on this therapeutic journey with you is ‘I just need to do what I can and not stress, I don’t think you realise the difference you have made in my life; I wouldn’t be where I am today without you, you have really changed my life for the better.
Learning about consistency, predictability and reliability (CPR) during our sessions and how I can support my children around this has been the highlight of my sessions, I have learnt a lot
